Pretty Mountain in Monterrey
Yup, I finally got around to testing the magicjack today here in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
Here are the specs for those that are interested:
I was connecting via a Toshiba Satellite L355D Laptop. The phone I used was a cordless Panasonic Dect 6.0 Model number KX-TG1311ME.
Now, down to brass tacks. The MJ performed flawlessly!
To take the test to a more extreme level, I disconnected from my cable internet connection (Cablevision) and dialed in via my wireless modem purchased through Telcel. (The actual unit is a Sony Ericsson MD300 USB modem). Now the connection via Telcel is always quite a bit weaker, but to my pleasant surprise, the magicjack once again came through, crystal clear.
So my experience with the magicjack here in Mexico is perfect, zero problems at all. I made five calls this afternoon to the states, all of them perfect. When I asked the person on the other end how the call quality was, all five people responded well. All of them were not aware that there was any difference from a regular phone line, there was no indication of crackling, delay, or echo.
So yes, I am pleased at how the MJ has performed south of the border. If you have experience with it in other countries, please post your comments in the box below this post. We’d love to hear from you.
